Novel DNA vaccination technology (continued):
PalindromX has designed, developed and patented a novel system which will dramatically improve the antibody response to DNA vaccination. At the heart of the system are two eukaryotic expression vectors which have been genetically engineered to incorporate a range of features designed to maximise antibody production. The system requires that both vectors (pDNAvac1 and pDNAvac2) are simultaneously administered into the host cell.

Features
Target protein. Regulated expression of the target as a fusion protein, containing a signal sequence and an LCMV CD4+ epitope.
Signal sequence. Signal peptide sequence which directs target protein into the host cell's secretory pathway.
LCMV CD4+ epitope. Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus CD4+ epitope. Ensures that the target protein-MCH class II complex binds to CD4+ helper T cells, thereby inducing cytokine production which in turn stimulates the clonal expansion of B
