PalindromX’ MAQSSE technology has been developed to meet the rapidly developing needs of the in vitro diagnostics market, focusing as it does on the simultaneous measurement of extremely low levels of multiple analytes where a clinical need for low Limits Of Detection is well established such as for cardiac, tumour and thyroid markers and inflammatory cytokines. MAQSSE is a platform technology designed to increase the sensitivity of existing immunoassays by at least 2-3 orders of magnitude and simultaneously facilitate multiple analyses. It achieves this through the replacement of existing signaling molecules such as iodine 125, HRP etc with single strand DNA molecules which are amplified using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Capture antibody-analyte- signal antibody sandwiches are differentiated and their concentrations established by using melt curve analysis (MCA).

The technology has been designed to facilitate modular development by the final end user who will have the flexibility to establish up to seven different immunoassays per analysis using pre-designed sets of ssDNA molecules. Currently the technology is being developed using both 32 sample and 96 well format real-time PCR thermocyclers.
